The VideoKid is a 3D arcade that's similar to the classic Paperboy, but instead of having to deliver the paper, you'll have to deliver videotapes. Oh, and your transportation mode also changes because you'll be riding a skateboard instead of a bicycle.
Controls in The VideoKid are really simple: by sliding your finger towards the left or the right, you can make your protagonist move on either direction. But, if you slide your finger upwards, your character will jump. Also, you'll throw the videotape by clicking on the screen. Your main objective is to reach the end of the screen while you insert as many tapes inside the mailboxes as you can. Be warned, it won't be easy.
Keep in mind that you'll stumble into a bunch of obstacles on the street. So, you have to dodge the cars that are coming towards you in either direction, the pedestrians, opened sewers, fences in the middle of the street, benches, and much more. The most exciting part though is that almost all the obstacles reference some famous element of the film or TV industry from the 80s. For example, you have to dodge Roger Rabbit's tax, the Inspector Gadget or the Ninja Turtles.
The VideoKid is a super fun 3D arcade that definitely upgrades a simple but fun gameplay such as the one that Paperboy offers. It also adds a super fun 80s vibe. And let's not forget the visuals with its polygonal aesthetic, which are great.
